After finding the Paw Five harness, I knew that I wanted the customized name patches for it with my dogs name on them. After all, the main reason I chose this harness was for the name on the side. I did not realize that the name patches were sold separately from the harness until I went to order it. It took a bit of searching on amazon but I was able to find the right patches for this harness. When the customized patches arrived they looked great and fit perfectly onto the Velcro spots that were made for them. One great feature is that the patches are the same size for any size harness so if your dog grows into the next size, you will not need to order a new name patch to fit that size.
We only had one minor issue with these name patches over the years. Keep in mind that we use these harnesses almost daily so I would consider them to be well used. The issue is that where the harness naturally bends when the dog moves, folds the edge of the patch and eventually tore the seam that held the name patch onto the Velcro backing. After two years Walter’s name patch is just hanging on by the “TER” and after one year, Norman’s is just starting to come apart and Clyde’s is still in pretty good shape.
Overall, this is still a love it item in my opinion. The harness would not be complete without the name patches and for all of the use we got out of them for the price, I think this was worth it.
